Help us keep the seed library going for many years by adopting a seed. Adopting a seed from the Boyne Grows Seed Library represents a commitment to the core principles of community sustainability and biodiversity. When you choose to adopt a seed, you not only take possession of a tiny life but also embrace the responsibility of preserving and sharing its genetic heritage. This act ensures the success and longevity of the seed library project!
The varieties selected to be “adopted” ensure a large amount of seed is available for food security purposes or have cultural significance to our community or it could be a genetically diverse seed to increase climate resilience. When you adopt a seed, you will be given the seeds to grow and we ask that you follow the seed growing and seed saving requirements. Each seed and plant has unique seed saving requirements (from very easy to advanced) and we send every seed with this information to help take the worry out of planting and harvesting.
