An Adventure On Every Page
A book is an adventure. It can take a reader to new worlds, whether it be a real destination on Earth, or to a fictional universe. Readers explore new places and characters. They can experience new ideas and surprises. Just like an adventure, a book can broaden the reader’s horizons, teach them something new, and provide valuable insights. This summer, we invite the children and youth in our community to embark on An Adventure On Every Page.
Kids entering kindergarten to grade 12 in the coming school year are eligible to enter the Summer Reading Program. Stop by the library between Tuesday July 2 to Saturday August 24 to register.
Each registrant will receive 10 ballots to enter our 10 grand prize draws. With reading and library challenges weekly, children can gain extra ballots to win all summer long! Grand prize draws will occur Wednesday August 28.
Children and youth residing in the Town of Carman or the RM of Dufferin can register for free. We also offer a free membership for eligible children in the RM of Grey. Other municipalities may reimburse for a membership.
The goals of our Summer Reading Program are:
- To help school aged children maintain their reading skills while on summer holidays.
- To encourage and motivate children and families to read for pleasure.
- To introduce children and their families to the resources of the public library.
- To welcome new residents and new customers to the library.
- To establish the library as a vital part of community life.
