For Boyne Regional Library users: requesting material from another library system.
Eligibility
The Inter Library Loan (ILL) Service is available to anyone with a valid Boyne Regional Library membership.
What types of material can be requested?
Inter Library Loans will obtain books, audio books, and DVDs not owned by the Boyne Regional Library collection.
All materials that are requested on Inter Library Loan are subject to the availability and Inter Library Loan policies of the participating lending libraries.
How do I make an Inter Library Loan request?
You can submit an Inter Library Loan request at the Boyne Regional Library, by phone or email, or through our website by clicking on the link titled “Inter Library Loans.”
How much does it cost?
The service fee per item is $2.00 each for shipping and handling. Lost or damaged materials will be charged to the customer at the rate charged by the lending library.
All DVD requests will be charged $2.00 per movie. This includes $1.00 for shipping and handling and a $1.00 movie rental charge.
Use of Materials
Materials must be picked up within seven (7) business days.
Renewals of materials may be possible, depending on the lending library’s loan policies.
ILL materials will be subject to the same loan periods as Boyne Regional Library owned materials.
- 21 days for print and audio materials from checkout date
- 2-day loan period for DVDs from checkout date
For Libraries requesting material from the Boyne Regional Library
The following materials are available through the ILL service:
- Books
- Audio books
- DVDs
The following materials are not available through the ILL service:
- High demand materials
- Local history materials
Use of Materials
DVDS
Lost or extreme damage (not including normal wear and tear), the borrowing library will be responsible to pay the cost of replacing the DVD. DVDs must be returned in the original packaging material.
AUDIO BOOKS
Lost or extreme damage (not including normal wear and tear), the borrowing library will be responsible to pay the cost of replacing the Audio Book. Audio Books must be returned in the original packaging material.
BOOKS
Lost or extreme damage (not including normal wear and tear), the borrowing library will be responsible to pay the cost of replacing the book.
All ILL materials will have a 21-day lending period.
Renewal of materials may be possible, depending on the demand.
