Eligibility
Residents of the Town of Carman and Rural Municipality of Dufferin may join the library free of charge with proof of residency. A membership application can be filled out in person in the library.
Non-residents may purchase an annual library membership for $60 or a 6 month membership for $30. Some Manitoba municipalities may reimburse the fee; please check with your municipality office.
Membership Responsibilities
The library cardholder agrees to be responsible for all materials borrowed and to abide by the rules and regulations of the Boyne Regional Library.
- You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost or damaged. Loan periods vary for different collections. If the cardholder is under 18, the parent or guardian is responsible for all materials borrowed.
- Your library card provides access to licensed databases from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from home over the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.
- Please take care of your library materials and return all items in good complete condition and on time for use by the next person.
Lost or stolen cards
If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card. You must report it as lost immediately. A replacement card can be issued at a cost of $5.
Change of address, email or phone number
It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we will update your account.
Family Linked Cards
Parents or guardians may apply for a junior library card for their child(ren) who are 18 years of age and under. If the cardholder is under 18, the parent or guardian is responsible for all materials borrowed. The junior membership will be linked to the parent or guardian account to easily monitor items. Please note that renewing items on family linked cards is not currently available in the library app.
