Nature Journaling : Adults

Thursday October 3 @ 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm

An open journal with leaves and a pencil laying atop.

Can you identify the species of birds found in your backyard? The types of trees in your local park? Do you remember where vegetables grow best in your garden each year?

In this workshop, we will explore multiple ways to connect to nature and the benefits of mindfulness, exploring it through creativity. Nature journaling is an incredible practice that helps connect us to the outdoors and offers a better understanding of the world we live in. This type of journaling involves immersing oneself in nature, practicing quiet observation and encourages curiosity of the plants, animals and landscapes all around us. We will talk about the benefits of spending prolonged mindful time in nature has proven to significantly decrease levels of stress hormones, improve sleep, decrease tension, lower blood pressure and heart rate – and how to nature journaling can help!

Note: This is not an art workshop and no artistic talent is required. Perfect for beginners and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and experiences!

Each attendee will receive a Nature Journal.  This event will take place in the library and along the Carman Community Pathway. Please dress appropriately.

Registration opens September 17 @ 10am.
